DI AKO RHASTA…AKO SI TAONG GRASA

Monday, February 22nd, 2010

Sorry For those who does speak only in english..but this post is intended for pinoys only.

…..

…….

UNISAN, where the best things in life are free..

Sunday, February 14th, 2010

Its February 13th, me and my girlfriend decided to visit my sister in Quezon, in a place called Unisan. It is approximately 5 to 6 hours of travel from Sto.Tomas, Batangas ( this is the usual place where me and Jelyn meet before going to Bulacan or Tarlac) We rode a bus going to Lucena, unfortunately we rode an Ordinary bus, so we have to anticipate the heat and dust during travel.

ON THE BUS

ON THE BUS

Once we arrived in Lucena, we immediately transffered to a van going to Unisan, Quezon. We are carrying our swimwear, some sweets for my sister, and also a dress for her and a shirt for her hubby. During the travel we saw the simplicity of life there, most houses are made of cogon, bamboo and pawid, they are getting water from wells and “bukal” , trees are everywhere, we saw bodies of water one after another.

ON THE WAY

ON THE WAY

The only problem is…there is no light on the road, the only light we saw are lights coming from the very few vehicles passing by and some locals who are walking with flashlights.

We arrived at my sister’s place at around 6:30 pm a special dinner was already set for us…ginataang alimango and pinakbet. We ate and immediately got into sleep. We are getting ready for tomorrow for the main event. The trip to Malatandang Beach… a beach free for all.

It is about 15 minutes travel from my sister’s place, before we went out, her neighbor gave her some fruits for us to bring… for free. You see, almost everything here is almost free, free fruits, very cheap seafoods ( sometimes free) and a lot of good places to visit ( we are planning to visit the nearby cave and waterfalls next time) for free.

We were accompanied by some friends, once we arrived in Malatandang Beach, my girlfriend was really surprised ( I can see it in her reaction) and i also pretend to be surprised ( coz I have been there already).

Orly ( one local who accompanied us) , have shown us how to catch balakwit, a snail like sea creature that is found on under the sand. There is also this creature that the locals called “puke-puke” for a reason I don’ know, it looks like a mouse ( used in computers) for me.

We had a great day, as I write this, I can still feel the pain on my back due to sunburn, but all in all, it was a good experience, the people in UNISAN are very great people. You should try it for yourself. Thanks to my sister May and my bayaw Bong for inviting us. We hope next time Nanay, popot and bule will be with us.

Art from Pancit Wrapper…

Wednesday, February 10th, 2010

I saw a foil on the table just this evening, wrapped inside it is pancit… a very dry pancit..I was not interested on the pancit, but the foil wrapper..It will make a good art medium….

A couple of twists and crumplings plus a lot of imagination should give you something like this………

BASURERO

I used an old CD for the stand and double sided tape to position the figure. Maybe next time you’ll think again before throwing foil wrappers. An aluminum foil may take 200-500 years to be completely disintegrated, better turn it to art so that the next ..next…next generation can see it, than to let it be an earth pollutant…I don’t like foils covering my dead body in the future….

Next time you throw..Think…

A Law Abiding Citizen …ART of revenge!!!!

Tuesday, February 9th, 2010

Last vacation, the Holidays I mean, I had a movie marathon. I always do this during my free time to visit my province which is Bulacan, it’s quite different now, the usual is that my mother is sleeping, with the four of us ( me and my siblings) sitting on the floor, watching the movies we bought from “kuya” with lots of snacks in front of us. Now, my mother is still sleeping..but there is only three of us, my other sister ( May) got married last December 23 and relocated to Unisan,Quezon ( where the most recent film shown on big screen is the TEN COMMANDMENTS and RAMBO 1…joke).

My sister chose Band Slam, a recent American C hick Flick ( which fits mia’s personality, she was a kikay writer for Candy Mag. and still receives special projects, see her article this March.), Lee chose UFC ,I don’t need to explain why,I personally chose the ” Law Abiding Citizen” dvd and I didn’t regret it..

It is a story of revenge by a husband to the criminals who killed his family and eventually to the attorneys and everyone involved to the plea made to release one of his family’s killer. The story is filled with twists that made me think for a while, then it made me enjoy the way he killed those m@#$er f!&Kers… I was really carried away by the emotion of wanting to kill…that is only for a while… I don’t usually feel that way to movies, that is why I think you should watch this movie. Talkin about Art of Killing…..you’ll see why when you watch it.

The Killer/Husband( Clyde Shelton)  was played by Gerard Butler

The Attorney ( Nick Rice) was played by Jamie Foxx.

Greed

I want to put something new in my site. Something unique and interesting. But all I can think of is that freakin rat in the kitchen. It is sunday again, and tomorrow is “back to work” day. I just can’t help but thinkin that I am a prisoner of my own life. I’ve studied for 14 years,so that I can work as many years as I can after that….damn…

I am planning to have a business…but that doesn’t mean resigning…I just want an outlet, to release my stress. Right now I am really really interested in having my own comic book and toy shop..I am really a 7 year old trapped inside a 27 year old body.

My friend and I are now collaborating for a story, he will be the writer and I’m the artist. Another friend of mine, a former bandmate,  also have another idea in mind. I am a writer myself and I have written a comic book and an indie magazine back in my college days, these I will show once I have finished scanning a few pages of it.

Here is a view of some characters I have made for my next comic project.

Toy Making

Saturday, February 6th, 2010

I am currently studying and researching on how to make toys. Specifically designer toys made of liquid plastic called R10-103 and RTV liquid rubber. I have tried looking for suppliers of these chemicals since these are hard to find and you can not buy it just anywhere. The instructions are simple but i should say it takes a lot of research and patience. Yup, I just threw away 680 pesos for my first set, unfortunately my mold is short since I made a big figure for the amount of RTV I bought.

I am just amazed how KidRobot brought life to his’ vinyl figures. I have plans of doing this myself, but not for now maybe. I am giving myself  three more weeks to study.

If you want to study with me here are the tools:

RTV : one set (it includes a hardener)

R10-103: a set( also include a hardener)

Clay: preferably hard clay

Sculpting tools

Dropper

Measuring cup

I will post my recent work as soon as I finished it. Goodluck to both of us…
